Floresville ISD Early Childhood Center, Floresville, TX
 | Background
The Independent School District in Floresville, Texas was making an addition to the building of their Early Childhood Center. The architect for the project specified that the area under the building be excavated and the building be built on piers. The Board of Trustees thought it best to take advantage of the building's design. They decided that the cellar under the building would be utilized for an indoor/outdoor play area. To guarantee a classroom conducive to learning, while children played directly underneath, appeared challenging. |
 | Solution/Results
Icynene® was specified for this project, not merely as an insulation, but its effectiveness as a sound barrier. Icynene® met the challenge and was applied over an area covering more than 19,000 square feet. The foam was sprayed on the concrete slab soffits in the play area and reduced the sound transferred. The Icynene Insulation System® proved to be the ideal insulation. The entire project was a proven investment for the Floresville Independent School District. |
