Chairman of the Board
With more than 50 years of engineering experience, Hans Koehle currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for Icynene. Drawn to environmental protection and experienced in industrial air pollution control, Mr. Koehle joined Abart Engineering Limited, a company that focused on working with heavy industry. Following six years of leadership, Mr. Koehle became the sole shareholder in Abart Engineering Limited. During this time, Mr. Koehle invested privately in a series of companies including Brita and Icynene. Mr. Koehle holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal.
With more than 15 years of experience in private equity investment, Michael Bevan is the co-founder of Element Partners, a leading growth equity firm. Element Partners is dedicated to companies that provide innovative products and services to the global energy, industrial and environmental sectors managing approximately $850 million of capital commitments. Prior to founding Element Partners, Mr. Bevan was a partner at Advent International. Prior to this, Mr. Bevan was a principal at EnerTech Capital Partners, a firm he helped found in 1995. Mr. Bevan holds a BA in English from Denison University and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Annette Verschuren is the Executive Chair of NRstor Inc., a new venture in green technology with a focus on electrical storage park development and is a former President of The Home Deport Canada and Asia.
Ms. Verschuren, appointed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, has served as a member of the North American Competitiveness Council, part of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. She was also a member of Finance Minister Flaherty’s Economic Advisory Council, a group of 11 Canadian business leaders charged with advising the Government of Canada on the global economic crisis. In 2011, Ms. Verschuren was honored as an Officer of The Order of Canada for her contribution to the retail industry and Corporate Social Responsibility. In 2010, she was appointed co-chair of the 2012 Governor General’s Leadership Conference, Canada’s premier leadership training event. Ms. Verschuren holds honorary doctorate degrees from Dalhousie, Mount Saint Vincent University and St. Francis Xavier University, where she also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
Ben Gadbois is President and Chief Operating Officer of Spin Master toy company in Toronto, which sells leading brands such as Air Hogs, Bakugan, Teck Deck and La Dee Da dolls. Prior to Spin Master, Mr. Gadbois served as Global President for Writing and Creative Expression for Newell Rubbermaid. At Newell Rubbermaid, Mr. Gadbois was responsible for managing brands such as Sharpie, Papermate, Rolodex and Expo. Mr. Gadbois was also the President of the Rubbermaid-Pyrex Europe, Middle East and Africa division before becoming Global President for Rubbermaid Home Products. Mr. Gadbois holds a BS in Accounting from Salem State College and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
