Spray Foam Contractor Health and Safety
Don’t be alarmed, when your licensed Icynene spray foam insulation installer shows up at your home wearing a ‘hazmat’ suit. Licensed Icynene spray foam installers are just like car spray painters. In order to protect their everyday clothing and skin, they are required to wear the following:
- a protective Tyvek suit,
- fresh air mask,
The health and safety of our licensed spray foam insulation installers is just as important to us as the health and safety of our customers and their families. Personal protective clothing is a requirement for all licensed Icynene spray foam insulation installers, in order to make sure they are sufficiently protected during the spray foam application process.
The personal protective clothing and gear that licensed Icynene spray foam insulation in-stallers wear ensure that they:
- Do not inhale vapours and particulates
- Are protected against skin contact with any raw materials
- Have a certain amount of safety around the high-pressure installation equipment
During Spray Foam Application and Once Spraying is Complete
Icynene installation protocols require that any occupants of the building that is being insulated stay away from the premises during the application and for a certain amount of time af-terwards to allow for proper ventilation. These are all safety measures similar to those rec-ommended for activities like spray painting, grinding, or anything elsewhere that creates spray vapours and/or dust particles.
