RESNET has released two new factsheets to help builders, code officials and consumers to better understand the Energy Rating Index option in 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). According to announcement from RESNET, the 2015 rating index asks builders to achieve mandatory code requirements follow hot water piping provisions and comply with the minimum insulation and window envelope performance requirements of the 2009 IECC.
The complexities of the code led RESNET to develop the two factsheets that both explain the Energy Rating Index performance option to the 2015 IECC and compares HERS Index Scores for the 2009 IECC, 2012 IECC, 2015 IECC and the proposed alternative scores advocated by the Natural Resources Defense Council, Leading Builders of America and the Institute for Market Transformation.
