Southern states have high energy usage [VIDEO]

According to the Southern States Energy Board, the 16 states the board represents consumed 45 percent of all energy used in the U.S. in 2010. These states include Florida, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and other southern states. Since these states tend to experience extreme heat, it's no surprise energy usage may be high in these areas.
