Spray foam insulation is the next step in the evolution of residential insulation.
The American Chemistry Council defines spray foam as a continuous insulation and air seal plastic material that is sprayed on walls, roofs, into gaps and corners, and on all contoured surfaces.
How is spray foam insulation made?
- Two liquid components are mixed together and react on-site.
- Foam is created, expanding within seconds of applying. Gaps are sealed and crevices are filled, forming a moisture and vapour barrier wherever it is applied.
- According to the American Chemistry Council, spray foam insulation can resist heat transfer extremely well, and it offers a highly effective solution for dealing with unwanted air leakage and infiltration through cracks, seams, and joints.
