New Addendum from Appraisal Institute can be produced as Home Energy Report says RESNET
The first residential green and energy efficient appraisal report addendum for use by appraisers has been developed by the Appraisal Institute, according to a recent update from RESNET. The Residential Green and Energy Efficient Addendum provides items of high performance house features that appraisers can consider. RESNET says that the addendum is a valuable tool for appraisers when selecting comparable sales for the property they are appraising. The tool may assist in providing a more accurate valuation of the property being appaised.
An agreement between RESNET and the Appraisal Institute now enables the opportunity to generate the Appraisal Institute Green Addendum and auto-populate it from the data collected in the home energy rating.
Icynene recommends working with a certified RESNET HERS rater to overcome key obstacles quickly, improve the home’s functionality and establish independent third-pary credibility. Energy ratings are a compelling way to explain the benefits of air-sealing. Icynene works with RESNET and their team of HERS raters to show homeowners how they can create a more energy efficient home using Icynene spray foam insulation.
